It all started in Honduras where a team of Abilene Christian University students were there to help the Honduran people build houses and bring food to those who were hungry. During the trip, they jokingly used the word Highflyer to describe a person that was smooth, wealthy, and daring. After their trip to Honduras, these friends made shirts and gave them out to people who they thought were Highflyers. It caught on and soon these friends were seeing their Highflyer shirts everywhere on campus. As these friends continued to go on other mission trips and as they began to mature in their thinking, their idea of a Highflyer began to change. Instead of their original thinking, they realized that a Highflyer, was in fact, one who makes a difference using his or her unique gifts to invest in the lives of others.
